Feeling more down, sad, “blah” during the colder months is an issue that many people face. Usually it’s because of the fewer hours of daylight. For many people, using a light box can be helpful. Light boxes should be 10,000 Lux, which refers to the quality of the light given off by the device. Amazon has these for safe for $100 or less. Here is a link to a quality box on if you are interested in trying one. To use it, place it on a table about 2 feet away from your eyes. You do not have to stare directly at it, so it can be used while reading the paper or doing homework, for example. Use it for about 30 minutes a day for good effect.
